This year's Sacred and Profane was a wet one. I helped my friend Kim with her piece- a giant papier-mache volcano with hand made charcoal for participants to draw on the walls and a nice warm fire to congregate around. We whitewashed the walls in one of the end rooms at the Battery on Friday and then lugged the volcano over on the ferry wrapped in plastic to ward off the rain on Saturday. Around 4 we erupted the volcano with a bunch of red-dyed baking soda and vinegar and then burned the volcano. There was a lot of drawing on the walls too, here are some images from the day- setup and then during the S&P.
